Very few documentaries can offer a view behind the scene of electronic music. Behind the machines and technology, first is Human Being, flesh and bones, destinies, landscapes, soul food. Slices does this field-work, goes deep down to the roots, all around the world. It’s a large window for all music lovers, a big trip on screen, to open people’s mind and take them back to humanity. We need traces of what is now a long cultural history. I did learn a lot myself watching these films, about artists, variety of cultures, techniques, inspiration, confirming the power of creativity is as endless as individualities. It makes us come together and wanting to continue giving our best, renewing ourselves constantly.

To me this DVD is crucial, as it is done from people who understands music and the artists they interview.
Not the same all basic questions here, but you get into the universe of major actors of the “now” music.
And in a way who could speak to anyone.
The feature they’ve done for us is the best i ever had, technically (locations, shooting, lighting always great) and journalistically (good questions, good musical illustrations).
It is vital their work continues as they are the best to speak about this music to a wide audience…

Generally i have never been a fan of music publications.
Journalists tend to contort the truth to fit there writing and very often people can get a disjointed version of the interviewee. On top of that, its also very tiresome fielding questions such as ; whats your favourite colour, food, movie, breed of dog etc etc yawn.
Here we have a format that not only works, me thinks it`s the start of what could very easily become favoured over flicking through a slew of adverts and nonsense to read one article on one person, that you may or may not be interested in. Not only has Holger et als marvelous idea done wonders for me, my colleagues and good electronic music, i also think he may have stumbled across a format that will be the shape of things to come.
